How do I endorse a procedure or remove the endorsement? (Institutional Representatives Only)

Created by Help Desk Team, Modified on Fri, 25 Oct, 2024 at 1:21 PM by Help Desk Team

Institutions endorse already-listed parent or variation (child) procedures when the endorsing institution uses the same steps. This helps the community know how many institutions are using the same procedure and avoids the creation of duplicate procedures.  For additional information see Parent Procedures, Child Procedures, and Endorsements.

Note: You are only able to endorse other institution's procedures not your own institution. All Institutional Representatives for an institution can see, endorse, and remove endorsements from procedures for their individual institution.

To endorse a procedure:

  1. Click Let's Get Started from the Home page or click the Procedures link at the top of the site to navigate the main procedures table.

  2. Once you find a desired procedure in the list (see Search for a Procedureif needed), click on the View button (tablet icon) to view it (see View/Read a Procedure, if needed).

  3. Within the Procedure Viewer (shown below), click on the Endorse button (star icon) button to endorse the procedure.

The button will then become shaded, indicating that you've endorsed the procedure. Image of shaded Endorse button
  4. To remove your institution's endorsement, view the procedure again and click on the Endorse button again. The button shading will be removed, indicating that the procedure is now unendorsed.

  5. To view all procedures your institution has endorsed:
    1. Click on the Representative link at the top of the site.

    2. Select Dashboard.

    3. Click on the Endorsed tile under My Procedures.

    4. A list of procedures your institution has endorsed is displayed. Click on the View button (tablet icon) to the right of any procedure to view it (you'll also be able to remove the endorsement, if desired).

Note: You will only be able to see endorsements that your institution has made for already existing procedures from other institutions. You will not see any endorsements other institutions have made for your institution's procedures. All Institutional Representatives (IRs) see the full list of procedures your institution has endorsed no matter which IR endorsed the procedures.
